Reykjavík is a small city making it easy to explore in a few hours. While Reykjavík is a charming city, do not spend a lot of time here. Iceland is a beautiful country with so much to see and spending time in Reykjavík takes away from your adventures.
If you do not have a car, you can easily walk into town from the BSI terminal. The Flybus has a direct route from the airport to BSI terminal which is just 15 minutes outside downtown. Take a look at the Flybus schedule and buy tickets here.

What to See
Rainbow Street
This famous street is lined with shops and restaurants making it a central location. It leads to the beautiful Hallgrimskirkja church at the end of the street.

Hallgrimskirkja
At 74.5 meters tall, it is the largest church in Iceland! This church is smaller than it looks though is free to enter. Be sure to head to the top of the church for a beautiful view of Reykjavík and the harbor. To visit the viewing deck you will need to purchase a ticket which can be done at the church gift shop.


City Hall
City Hall showcases an intricate 3D printed model of Reykjavík. Knowledgeable staff are on hand to answer any questions. You will also find free restrooms and comfortable seating areas for their convenience.
Harpa Concert Hall
This well-known concert hall is one of Reykjavík’s iconic buildings. There is a walking path just outside the hall that leads you to the Sun Voyager.
Sun Voyager
Situated on the harbor, the Sun Voyager is a steel sculpture that is an ode to the sun. This short walking path lets you loop the outskirt of the city.
